It blocks rain and still allows for sweat/ water vapor to pass the membrane to run-off perfectly *. It has taped seams, a adjustable, detachable hood, and side zippers to create venting openings.

Details include a 2-way YKK Vislon front zipper, protected by a double stormflap with magnetic closure.

And special are the 11 pockets; on outside, chestpockets with flap, chestpocket behind windflap, stash pockets with waterproof zippers and cargo pockets with flaps that double as side entry, fleece lined handwarmer pockets. On the inside it has a large chest and – hippocket.
